Remembering Richard
Remember me?
Ok, enough Capper.
Today marks 4 years since Richard Marsland took his life and left us. This is the man for whom Capril was created. We honour his memory today as we remember his brilliant comedic skills and delightful personality. He was a true gentleman who demonstrated his care for others on a daily basis.
If a man like this can lose his battle with depression then no one is safe.
Take note.
Care for those around you. Ask people how they really are. Even if you find it uncomfortable.
If you’re in trouble, seek help. Do not let the depression fool you. You are valuable, you are worthy, and people love you. It’s not an easy battle, but it is a worthwhile one.
Here is a collection of tweets honouring Richard today using the hashtag #ImRichard
Also, the Get This Occasionally Twitter account has been tweeting links to the sketches of Ricky M all day. It’s definitely worth a look. And a giggle.
Feel free to leave your memories in the comments.
Megan
I still listen to the Get This podcasts after all these years. In his memory, I will take a trip on the Vengabus or maybe even the Shortbus.
Hi guys, a nice cause. Thanks for still thinking of Rich, though it’s not my brothers anniversary. It’s in December 🙂
I think the original article was posted 6 December. I am so sorry for your loss. My friend died in December almost 4 years to the day after Richard. I wish I could have saved her but I couldn’t.
Ok makes sense now, there’s really not much I’ve realised anyone can do once it gets to that point. It’s very much a personal thing for the people who are suffering. I’m also sorry for your loss
Hi Bonnie. It’s nice to see you around the Capril site. I hope we can do some good in the world.
