Capril is about raising awareness of depression and removing the social stigmas attached to it.  To that end we encourage you to hold a Capril event in your workplace, school or community.  Email Angus at angus@capril.org outlining the Capril event you would like to hold.

Schools are also welcome to run cape wearing days.  We suggest that you get information packs from the beyondblue website. Schools can contact John for Capril school event details at john@capril.org.

If you request help with a Capril event, please include your name, address, date of the event and where it will be held.  The address should be an address that we can get information packs delivered to you from beyondblue: the national depression and anxiety initiative.

To understand your obligations and what kind of events are acceptable, please download our fundraising guidelines here, Capril 2014 Fundraising Guidelines 1 Page sheet, or the complete beyondblue: the national depression and anxiety initiative guidelines here.

Can’t decide on a cape to wear? Try buying a Capril T-Shirt on-line instead, problem solved.

Stuck for an event idea?

If you’re holding one at a school, why not have a cape wearing day, and organise someone to speak to the students about depression.  It is also a great idea to involve parents as well.  We can order wrist bands, temporary tattoos and youth information packs to help you talk about depression and the support available for those who need help dealing with it.

If you’re in an office environment, why not have a cape wearing day and take a group photo to hang up on the wall?

If you just want to do something low key, why not organise a morning tea with your friends?  Have everyone turn up in capes and collect money to donate to beyondblue: the national depression and anxiety initiative.

You are only limited by your imagination!

Promoting your Event

You can obtain beyondblue: the national depression and anxiety initiative material from their website at www.beyondblue.org.au and you can ask Angus, angus@capril.org, for a PDF copy of the A4 Poster you can print for display at your event.
